Since 2012, the state government of Baden-Württemberg has been organising a citizens' participation process under the motto "World: Citizens in demand", in which new development policy guidelines for the state of Baden-Württemberg were developed. The event takes place annually and the results are incorporated into the development policy of the state government.

Theresa Schopper, State Minister, State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg opened the State Conference 2019 and introduced to the audience the recent concerns of the development policy of the State of Baden-Württemberg. In particular, she underlined importance of the cooperation with countries of African continent within the State initiative “Afrika im Blick!”. The review performed within the initiative was presented by Dr. Martin Adelmann from the University of Freiburg.

Six workshops in connection to the ‘Afrika im Blick!’ initiative offered possibilities to participate in discussions and brainstorming. Collected ideas, feedback and results of the workshops were presented to the entire audience and disputed together with State Minister Theresa Schopper.

FSC representatives Anna Borsuk and Tetyana Tonkoshkur participated at the State Conference and its workshops. The occasion was used to present the Bilateral SDG Graduate School CLIFOOD to State Minister Theresa Schopper.
